Nathaniel Brese
Dear James and the rest of the Pendleton family, Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of Carolyn. It was wonderful that she could remain at home, with your support. It was also good to hear that she kept her sense of humor, surely one of her most endearing qualities.
I fondly remember staying with Carolyn and Leland many years ago, surrounded by their puns, laughter, and enjoyment of each moment. As we departed the house one evening, Carolyn chimed out, "now you boys be careful out there", surely an endearing chastisement to adult children. Their happiness certainly infected me and many others around them.
Again, my deepest sympathies on your loss. The memories are precious.
