Obituary for Foster H Robinson

Foster H  Robinson
UNION - Foster H. Robinson, 76, died following a brief illness, Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Born July 31, 1932, in Warren, he was the son of Clifford and Eva Post Robinson. He was educated locally and was a graduate of Warren High School.
Following high school Foster enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict.
For 36 years he was employed at Marine Colloids. He recently had been employed with Seacoast Security for over 20 years.
On August 23, 1986 he married Jonette Bodman at the Children's Chapel in Rockport.
Foster was an avid stock car race, he built and raced his own cars with his son David.
He enjoyed being in the woods, one of his greatest loves was woodworking. His wife said he was always building something.
Golf had become one of Foster's passions. He played each morning at Rockland Golf Club with his dear friend Dr. Emery Howard.
Foster's daughter, Barbara remembered him as a gentle and patient person who never had a harsh word for anyone. His family also said his life was enriched by the many hours he spent with his eight year old grandson, Logan Thompson, who was the light of his life.
Predeceased by two brothers, Woodbury Robinson, Stanley Robinson, Sr. and a sister Athleen Damon; Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Jonette of Union; his sons, David Robinson and his wife Susan of Belmont, Douglas Robinson and his wife Marlene of Gainesville, Texas; his daughters, Cindy Dean and her husband Jon of Rockland, Barbara Black and her husband Walter "Skip" of South Thomaston, Heidi Dyer and her husband David of Booneville, Arkansas, Tracy Thompson of Searsport; a sister, Olive Saunders of Rockland; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mr. Robinson's wishes, no services are planned.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rockland Junior Golf Association, P.O. Box 507, Rockland, Maine 04841.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
