I met Ed through Bob Pritchard and had the pleasure of sailing in Maine and the BVI with him. He was the consummate teacher about the sea and sailing and his few tunes on the concertina were not for mixed company. Will always his smile as he came through the hatch with a wee dram scotch for each of us after we completed a long, cold, rain swept sail to Hewitt's Island one October evening.
