8th Grade

Stephen and I were in 8th grade together in the old Thomaston High School. I was invited to Alicia Burns' birthday party at the grange hall in Thomaston.  It was my first boy/girl dance party and since he sat right in front of me in school and was a nice boy, I asked him to go with me. When I got to the party, I was so nervouse that I stood on the sidelines and didn't go near him. Eventually he crossed the room and asked me to dance......first boy I ever danced with!  I think we only danced once or twice but that was fine with me because I was so nervous. Stephen was a nice person who did me a big favor by going to the dance so I wouldn't show up with no one to dance with even though we hardly danced! A growing up memory I've never forgotten. So, so sad to hear of his passing. I'm glad he had a nice life with lots of love and family. He deserved it.
