Janet Peabody  Tolman (Peabody)
HOPE - Janet P. Tolman, 74, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Sussman House in Rockport, following a period of declining health.

Born in Lincolnville, April 5, 1941, she was the daughter of Quincy and Elsie Wiley Peabody. While growing up in Hope, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Camden High School.

In earlier years she worked at Hope General Store and later at School House Toggs in Rockport. She later worked part time at the Apple Barn in Hope.

On April 21, 1967, she married Alfred D. Tolman in Warren. The Tolman’s made their home in Hope many years. Janet was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed caring for her home and often could be found mowing the lawn or plowing the driveway so her husband could get in after working late at night.

Other than her husband Alfred, Janet is survived by one daughter, Annette Tolman of Union; three brothers, Frederick Peabody and his wife Marjorie of East Union, Arthur Peabody of Brookton Township , Douglas Peabody of Hope; as well as several sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held, at the East Union Cemetery.
