I wonder at the strength of the loss I feel as this anniversary approaches. The pain seemed lessened as the year moved along and so thie intensity of this reawakened ache is a surprise. I hold to the reality that it will again soften and recede...I've learned it will never go away. This picture of Jim in the canoe is how I think of him now...sailing on calm waters and at peace.
