Obituary for Noelani Kaye Crawford

Noelani Kaye  Crawford
UNION – Noelani K. Crawford, 48, died unexpectedly at her home, February 5, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 1, 1964, she was the daughter of Shelby D., Sr. and Elena Ching Crawford. As a child, she and her family lived in various places including Pennsylvania, New York and Germany.
She moved to Maine in 1979 and was a 1982 graduate of Camden / Rockport High School. She later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, from Massachusetts College of Art in 1989.
Noelani worked as a Museum Technician with the Peabody Museum at Harvard University from 1992 to 1998. More recently she was temporarily employed at the General Henry Knox Museum in Thomaston and Maine State Museum in Augusta.
After completing graphic and computer art studies in Albuquerque, NM in 1999 she returned to Maine, and on September 1, 2001, married James A. Pfirrmann at Children’s Chapel in Rockport. The couple resided in Union since that time.
She loved being outdoors, hiking, gardening, camping with her family and taking in a good yard sale.
Noelani was pre-deceased by her father in 2005. She is survived by her husband James; her son, Kian ‘Po’ Pfirrmann; her mother, Elena Crawford; her sister, Leimomi ‘Mo’ Crawford, all of Union; her brother, Shelby D. Crawford, Jr., of Leominster, MA; as well as nieces and nephews including Kai, Maile and Makoa Crawford, Andrew Warren, and Kalani Fredette.
A small private ceremony is being planned.
