So sorry to hear about your father's passing.
Years since I saw him, but the kind eyes and sweet smile are fresh in my mind. Always the gentleman, Roy will be fondly remembered and missed.

Condolence: Dear Elaine, I was shocked to read that my dear trombone buddy had died! Roy was a very important part of my getting back to playing trombone after 30 years! I used to say to him, "Roy, where do you get those notes!" He said, "Wherever you can!" He always had a smile and wit. The sounds that came out of his trombone were definitely 5 stars! I miss Roy already even though I hadn't seen him in years. It is so sad that I have lost my 'trombone buddy!'

Condolence: Dear cousins, we are so sorry to hear of Uncle Roy's passing. He was certainly, just like my father, "One of the Good Guys". We are sorry that we never got up there to visit often enough. Please know that you are in our prayers.

Condolence: Elaine, Terry, and families, I was saddened to learn of your father's passing. I didn't know him well and it's been many years since we were together, but he was always a kind and gentle man. He, along with your mom (and you both) always made us feel so welcome in your home. I will always treasure the memories of your dad ... the wheelbarrow rides, clamming, and tons of lobsters. And who could forget Aunt Main jumping (and crushing) a water pistol on your kitchen floor. How your mom laughed! Keeping these and all your other wonderful memories of your dad in your heart will help during this sad time. Condolence: To the Family,
I first got to know Roy & Nancy back in the 70's. My former husband, David Saastamoinen worked with Nancy. We had great times visiting them in Rockland. After moving back to Maine from Colorado I ran in to Roy at the Samoset one evening where he was playing with Stan Catel. They were great people. I'm sorry for your loss.

Condolence: I first got to know Roy when he was playing with Stan Catell and the crew on Sundays at the Farmer's Wife Restaurant in Rockport. I enjoyed countless conversations with him and came to relish my friendship with him. By coincidence, I became friends with a number of his family over the years. Roy was a kind, quiet gentle man who had an endearing way about him ... and he played a mean trombone. I will miss him very much. Michael
