Obituary for Kathleen E. Robbins

Kathleen E. Robbins
OWLS HEAD - Kathleen F. Robbins, 83, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, following a brief illness.
Born in Rockport, April 1, 1930, she was one eight children of Alphonso and Elizabeth Eaton. After moving to Deer Isle at a young age, she attended school there.
While living at Deer Isle, she met Asa A. Robbins. The couple were married at Deer Isle, December 20, 1954. They later moved to Rockland, where they raised their family. In earlier years, Kathleen worked with Stinson Canning Company, raking blueberries and digging clams.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and being outdoors in the sunshine. She loved her cats and dog as well, but more than anything enjoyed riding around town in her families Chevy Nova.
Kathleen was pre-deceased by her husband in 1974, two sons, Daniel Robbins in 2010, and Larry A. Robbins in 2000; as well as a daughter-in-law June M. Kelly Robbins in 2010. She is survived by three sons, Asa W. Robbins of Belfast, Jimmy Robbins of Camden, Gus Robbins of South Thomaston; two daughters, Flora F. McClure and her husband "DeeDee" of Rockland, Frances O. Robbins with whom she resided; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
No service will be held at this time. Caring Cremation® provided with the guidance of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
