FRIENDSHIP - Beverly M. Roberts, 60, passed away at her home with her family at her side, Sunday, October 3, 2010 after a brief struggle with bladder cancer.
Born January 27, 1950, in Handley, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Robert K. and Evelyn Bowers Martin. She attended school in Handley and East Bank, West Virginia.
On May 12, 1966, she married Rit Roberts in Pearisburg, Virginia. She and her husband lived and worked in Handley, West Virginia, Falls Church, Virginia, Plano, Texas, and Glen Bernie, Maryland before finding home in Friendship in 1972.
Beverly is survived by her husband Rit Roberts of Friendship; her sons, Stephen Roberts and his wife Annette of Watertown, New York, Nathan Roberts and his wife Jess of Rockland; her grandchildren, Jason Roberts and Melinda Roberts of Watertown, New York, Nathan R. Roberts, Emma Roberts, Zoe Roberts all of Rockland; her sister, Jane Farmer and her husband Curtis of East Bank, West Virginia; her brother James Martin and his wife Wanda of Ripley, West Virginia; as well as two nieces, Victoria Willis of Charlestown, West Virginia and Gina Cordell of East Bank, West Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010 at Friendship United Methodist Church. The Reverend Robert Dorr will officiate.
