CAMDEN - June Marie Robbins, 52, wife of Jimmy A. Robbins, died at her home Sunday, after a long battle with multiple health issues.
Born in Camden, July 16, 1958, she was the daughter of Austin R. and Patricia G. Duxbury Kelly. During her early years, June lived in Lincolnville, where she began school. After moving with her family to Rockport in 1974, she attended Rockport and later Camden schools.
March 12, 1976, she married Jimmy A. Robbins in Camden. The couple lived in Camden all their married lives, where they raised two daughters and have since been blessed with two sons-in-law. Even with debilitating health issues, June never complained about her own circumstances and was always concerned about others. Family and her grandchildren meant everything to her and she loved shopping sprees for them, especially with her dear friend, Wanda Poland. June was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She enjoyed a special relationship with her son-in-law Alden.
For several years June was employed at Van Baalens in Rockland and later worked at the Rockport Getty Mart.
June was pre-deceased by her father on August 22, 2007. She is survived by her mother, Patricia A. Kelly of Rockport; her husband, Jimmy; her daughters, Sheri J. Carr and her husband John, Holly M. Young and her husband Alden all of Camden; four brothers, John M. Kelly and his wife Terrie of Lincolnville, Gene R. Kelly of Rockland, Patrick A. Kelly and his wife Catrina of Rockport, Jack A. Kelly and his wife Erika of Lincolnville; two grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan Young of Camden; three aunts, Ruth L. Duxbury of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Margo D. Rankin and her husband Robert R. of Lincolnville, France M. Jordan and her husband Barry of Rhode Island; three brothers-in-law, Asa W. Robbins of Searsport, Gus C. Robbins, Danny Robbins; two sisters-in-law, Flora E. McClure and her husband George, Frances O. Robbins, all of Rockland; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of June's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A reception will follow at the funeral home's "104 Limerock" reception facility.
