Obituary for Mazurick A. Rich

Mazurick A. Rich
ROCKLAND - Mazurick A. Rich, 26, died unexpectedly, early Saturday, January 10, 2009.
Born in Houston, Texas, August 17, 1982, he was the son of Gregory A. and Kristi D. Rich. Maz moved to Rockland at an early age and was educated in local schools, but he gained most of his knowledge on his own by avid reading and absorbing details of everything.
Maz was best known for saying the wittiest things at the best times, and the many "off the wall" comments he made, resulting in a great laugh. He had the greatest love for family and looked forward to backyard cookouts, fire pits, horseshoes and the family's annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. Maz enjoyed spending time with his many friends and would do anything for them.
He had great skills playing the guitar and loved making his own music. He shared his love for music by joining in guitar jam sessions with family and friends. He had eclectic musical taste but most enjoyed heavy metal with strong guitar riffs. Thankfully, he had numerous sets of headphones.
His knowledge, wit and great personality made him exactly who he was. He had a perfect memory of dates, times, movies, books, events and many trivial things.
While watching Comedy Central and other stand up comedy, he would laugh until he cried. His laugh during these times was contagious to anyone present.
Maz has an ever growing collection of penguins, those who know him best know why he started the collection and have been adding to it over the years.
Maz is survived and missed by his loving parents Greg and Kris Rich of Rockland; his sister Gina Rich and her fiancé Anthony Mooar of New Sharon: his grandfather Conrad Winchenbaugh Sr. of Rockland; many aunts and uncles including his closest uncle Brett Winchenbaugh; as well as many cousins. He was pre-deceased by his maternal and paternal grandmothers, Mary E. Winchenbaugh and Jean M. Rich.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday evening, January 15, 2009, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 104 Limerock Reception Center, Rockland.
