UNION - Herrick C. Alley, 14, was found dead at his home here, Monday, March 10, 2003.
Born in Augusta, June 25, 1988, he was the son Arthur E. and Kathy A. McGraw Alley. Educated in Union schools, Herrick was a member of the Freshman class at Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro.
He enjoyed playing basketball, playing his guitar, skate-boarding, working on his computer and hanging out with his friends.
Herrick is survived by his mother Kathy Phillips and her husband Melvin of Union; his father Arthur E. Alley and his companion Virginia Walker of South West Harbor; his brother Garrett E. Alley and his companion Jamie Merrifield of Union; his sister Amelia R. Alley and her companion Nick Peters of Thomaston; his maternal grandparents, Gerard and Stella McGraw of St. Petersburg, Florida, his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Alley of South West Harbor; five uncles, Andrew Alley of South West Harbor, Raymond McGraw, Alden and Lisa McGraw, Brian McGraw, Gerry McGraw and his companion Dottie all of New Hampshire; one aunt Cynthia Andeen and her husband Wayne of Connecticut; as well as many cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A service honoring Herrick's life and in support of his family, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2003 at South Hope Community Church Gymnasium, Route 17, South Hope. Pastor Norman Finnemore will officiate. Interment will be in the spring.
