Obituary for William "Willie" Havener Jr.
ROCKLAND – William W. ‘Willie’ Havener, Jr., 37, died unexpectedly, Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home.
Born in Rockport, May 21, 1984, he was the son of William Havener, Sr. and Lynn Grant.
Willie was an outdoorsmen through and through. He loved being on the ocean and spent his career fishing and lobstering. Even when he wasn’t working, his favorite pastime was going fishing.
He loved working in his garden, growing wonderful vegetables and would ride ATV’s whenever possible.
Hanging out with his good friends, Mike Wilson, Brandon Raye, Matt Brown, Mike Staples, and Travis Havener, his cousin who was like a brother, always brought a smile to Willie’s face.
Willie’s number one priority in life was his daughter, Emilee. He loved nothing more than spending time with her.
He was quick with a smile and will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Predeceased by a brother, Daniel Dodge, II; his paternal grandmother Priscilla Havener; his maternal Grandfather Linwood Grant; an uncle Donald ‘Bubby’ Grant; and a good friend, Robert Lawson, Jr.; Willie is survived by his daughter, Emilee Havener and her girlfriend Alyie Sprague; his parents, William Havener, Sr. and his companion Catherine Christie of Rockport; his mother Lynn Grant of Warren; his paternal grandfather Wendall Havener of Rockland; his maternal grandmother Carolyn Fales and her husband James; his sisters, Sarah Havener and her companion Scott Woodman of Waldoboro; Santa Havener of Augusta, Ashley Havener and her companion Wayne Johnson of Camden, Renee Lawson of Cushing, Jasmine Dennis of Rockport; his brother Dustin Dyer of Camden; his uncles and aunts, Wayne Havener of Rockland, Matt Grant of Cushing, Teresa Kaler of Rockland; several special people in his life, uncle Robert Wadsworth of Rockland; Paula Byrnes of Cushing; Dorothy Gamage of Rockland; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Willie will be laid to rest beside his grandmother at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 at Achorn Cemetery, in Rockland.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
