Obituary for Scott W. Robinson
ROCKLAND - Scott W. Robinson, 52, passed away unexpectedly September 16, 2022. Born at the Knox Hospital in Rockland, February 7, 1970, he was the son of Raymond, Sr. and Judith Havener Robinson. Growing up in Rockland, Scott was a 1989 graduate of Rockland District High School and was a Rockland resident most of his life. As a young boy Scott started working for his father’s family business and as a young adult obtained his CDL license. He continued working for the family business into his adulthood. Scott’s bond with his parents was strong. Almost daily, he stopped into Raymond and Judy’s home for breakfast before work or stopped for a visit after work.
Scott became known as the smiling and friendly face of Robinson’s Waste Removal. He was able to befriend people from all walks of life during his time working for the family business and was known for chatting up customers or local strangers which would always evolve into a lengthy chat for sure!
For many years Scott was also employed by Ed Kolmosky as a caretaker of Ed’s properties and farm. This included mowing lawns, snow plowing driveways and feeding all the farm animals. During the years working for Ed, they became very close, forming what one would say was a father son relationship. Ed referred to Scott as “Kid”. They talked almost daily and were there for each other when needed.
In recent years Scott and Terry built their own chicken farm business, selling eggs and birds. This was a hobby Scott became interested in from all the years working on Ed’s property. Scott enjoyed bringing multiple birds home and really enjoyed his turkeys.
Scott became a father with the birth of his daughter Kyla when he was 23 years old. A couple years later he welcomed his son Logan into his life. He enjoyed bringing the kids along with him on his work route and later when he became a grandfather, he would do the same with his grandchildren, Hayden, Ava, Raymond and Jameson. Later in life Scott also welcomed a stepson, Jason. Scott was known for having a very big heart and really loved all kids. He would often take neighborhood kids on family trips or daily adventures never wanting to leave any kid out.
Throughout Scotts life he enjoyed many toys from four wheelers and side by sides, to snowmobiles, and his tractor. Scott also had a huge passion for big pick-up trucks. He was always looking for the next best top of the line fancy truck to purchase. He loved country and rock and roll music and had attended many concerts. One would often see him in his concert t-shirts. Scott also loved casino’s and often planned gambling weekend get-a-ways, with the hopes to strike it rich!
On September 3, 2016, Scott married his longtime companion Terry Sprowl and moved to Tenants Harbor where together they started an extensive house and yard restoration project with the help of family and friends.
He always had an imaginative scope and vision for his multiple upcoming projects. Scott was proud of the work accomplished with each and every project and very much enjoyed hosting family for Christmas Eve and summer BBQ’s. Everyone was invited and no one left hungry. Scott was known as being a big man with an even bigger heart. He was always willing to help anyone whenever he could and was an amazing provider for his family.
Scott is preceded by his father Raymond Robinson, Sr. and survived by his mother Judith Robinson of Rockland. He leaves behind his wife Terry Robinson of Tenants Harbor; his daughter Kyla McDonald and her Husband Cameron of Rockland; his son Logan Thompson of Union; his step-son Jason Pierce of Rockland; two brothers, Raymond Robinson, Jr. and his partner Amy Joslyn of Rockland, Gerald Robinson and his partner Barbara Thompson of Rockland; mother in-law Karen Sprowl; his brother and sister in-law’s, Leslie Sprowl, David Sprowl and his wife Angela all of Warren , Sue Tefft and her husband Matt of Durham; nieces and nephews, Ryan and Sarah Robinson Rockland, Sierra Gilbert of Portland, Carly Gilbert of Hope, Autumn Pette of Thomaston; Tyler Pette of North Carolina; four grandchildren Hayden, Ava, Raymond and Jameson McDonald all of Rockland, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, September 26, 2022 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, September 27th.
