Obituary for Ronald James Moran
Ronald James Moran 61, of Lincolnville Passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on November 12, 2019. Born May 9, 1958 in Everett Massachusetts to Richard Moran and Dorothy Scoppa who were awaiting his arrival.
Married in Madison Ohio to Kim Blood 62 of Rockland, Maine. While residing in Ohio Ron was involved in the construction phase of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Always his heart leading him back home, North. Ron moved his family back to Massachusetts where he maintained the Volpe Complex at Merrimack College. In 1987. Ever still looking north once again moved his family to Maine where he settled in Lincolnville, “On Coleman Pond” to a family owned summer property where he spent many memorable, joyous years boating, fishing, hunting, swimming and all things out of doors. Ron started his own business Quality Maintenance Service where he built, renovated and or maintained buildings and properties along the coast forging long term clientele. Ron became more involved in his community by volunteering his time on the Lincolnville Planning Board as 1st chair.
This was Ron’s journey to where his heart and soul was, where he was meant to be. But, what he loved, what he cherished was being surrounded by family and friends. Cookouts, taking all who dared tubing around the pond. He was a story teller and a teacher. Teaching how to hunt or fish. Walking through the woods or sitting by the bon fire. His love of music played a big role in his life. Playing to and for his wife of 41 years, for the masses at concerts or with his buddies of “Good Vibrations” at the Whales Tooth Pub. The patriarch of his family the glue that bound them together after the passing of his mother.
Survived by his children, Harmony Rahkonen her husband Chris of Morrill, Renee Rogers her husband Seth of Lincolnville and Heather Moran-Hustus her husband Eddie also of Lincolnville. His grandchildren, Haili Rahkonen, Colton Rahkonen, Kaila Rogers, Kelsie Rogers, Owen Rogers, Gwen Hustus and Alice Lindquist. Also surviving are Ron’s Brother Edward Moran and his wife Doris of Ohio and Lincolnville, his sister Denise Marchessault and her husband Larry of Everett Mass. Many nieces and nephews as well as the great ones.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 23, 2019 from 1 to 4:00 pm at the Lincolnville Community Building in Lincolnville, Maine. In lieu of flowers please make donation to the Beacon Hospice, Amedisys Foundation, 289 State Street, Bangor, Maine 04401.
