Obituary for Raymond "Ray" Robinson Sr.

ROCKLAND – Raymond S. Robinson, Sr., 82, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Sussman Hospice House in Rockport.

Born in Rockland, October 4, 1939 he was the son of Oscar, Sr. and Margaret Robinson. Educated locally, Ray met Judith Havener in March of 1962. It was love at first sight and the two were married in August of that same year.

Ray and Judith welcomed three sons into the family and they became his whole world. Family was Ray’s number one priority. He was extremely proud of the legacy he built, with seven generations of Robinsons. He was very close to his four grandchildren, and later his four great-grandchildren.

He took great joy in traveling, taking many trips with his family and their friends to many places including Florida, California, Canada and Mexico.

Ray began in the waste business at the age of eight, working alongside his father. He took over the business in 1962, and ran Robinsons Waste Removal with his family until 2021.

Ray was a kind and supportive family man who loved fiercely and instilled the value of hard work in his children and all future generations. He was a true gentle giant who will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Predeceased by three brothers, Allison, Francis and Oscar, Robinson, Jr.; three sisters, Doris Eaton, Evelyn Vassel, and Pauline Hanley; Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Robinson of Rockland; his three sons, Raymond S.
