Obituary for Patrick Riley Jackson

FARMINGTON – Patrick Riley Jackson, 74, formerly of Rockland, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Born in Skowhegan, November 29, 1947, he was the son of Russell L. and Mary Elizabeth (Garland) Jackson. He grew up in the Madison area and was educated there, attending Madison Area Memorial High School.

Always a hard worker, he worked in the industrial and construction industry his entire life. For several years he worked in area mills until he began his employment for his uncle’s earthwork company, Merle L. Lloyd & Sons, where he worked for over 20 years until his retirement. He was well liked by all his co-workers.

He was a talented craftsmen, and enjoyed refinishing furniture. Over the years he completed many beautiful pieces.

He was quiet and kept to himself, but was always friendly and easy to get along with. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Along with his parents, Pat was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen ‘Kate’ Lindahl in 2020; he is survived by several cousins, including, Jeff Lloyd and his wife Elaine of Madison, Linda Henderson and her husband Tim of Ellsworth, James Garland and his wife Linda of Madison, Nancy Garland of Bangor, Katharyn Garland of Madison; his brother-in-law and family, Hank Lindahl of Owls Head, Hannah Foster of Washington and Thomas Lindahl and family of Owls Head. And many special friends and caregivers.

A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2023. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
