Obituary for Pamela Vivian Barron Marr (Barron)

UNION – Pamela V. Barron Salo Marr, 62, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 after a battle with cancer.
Born in Waterville, September 18, 1956, she was the daughter of Phillip and Paula Stevens Barron. She was raised by her father with loving assistance from his sister Edith Barron.
Pam graduated from Waterville High School in 1974. She went to Florida for five years, then returned to Central Maine where she eventually purchased a home in Union. At age 30 Pam enrolled into the University of Maine in Augusta. She graduated in 1991 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Business and a Major in Accounting, of which she was very proud.
She worked as an Assistant Business Manager at the Courier Gazette for two years. For the next 20 years she worked for Graffam Auto Repair in Rockport, retiring in 2013.
She was a member of the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Auxiliary Post #1, Rockland and the Rockland Lodge of Elks #1008.
Pam is survived by her loving husband, John W. Marr, Sr. of Sweetwater, TN; two brothers, Harry Barron and Ralph Barron both of Waterville, as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at their home in Union in the spring. A planned get together will be announced next year at either the American Legion Post #1, Rockland or Rockland Elks Lodge #1008.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pam’s name may be made to Women’s Auxiliary, Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion, Post No. 1, P. O. Box 582 Rockland, ME 04841 or the Rockland Lodge of Elks #1008, P. O. Box 983, Rockland, ME 04841.
