Obituary for Owen Richard Adair

VINALHAVEN - It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce and mourn the passing of Owen Richard Adair, 31, of Vinalhaven, Maine. Owen’s body was found October 18, 2022 on Vinalhaven. Born on Vinalhaven in 1991 he was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.

Owen will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Robin and Cheryl Adair of Vinalhaven; sisters Tiffanie Conchola and husband Roman of Houston, TX, Autumn Adair-Hwang and husband Chris of Grafton, MA; brothers Hiram Adair, Ian Adair and wife Julia, all of Vinalhaven, ME; nieces and nephews Logan, Kenzie, Ian, Maisie, Charles, Finley and Emery.

Owen is predeceased by a brother, Ethan William; both maternal and paternal grandparents; three aunts, Diane Ames, Lorraine Pierce, and Patricia Nick; and two cousins.

Owen grew up on the island of Vinalhaven and graduated from Vinalhaven High School. Owen loved to be outside, on the water and in the woods. He worked primarily as a lobsterman and recently worked in the woods cutting trees and firewood. Owen was a grease monkey who enjoyed repairing, painting and fabricating trucks and cars, the louder the better. He loved four-wheeling, dirt bikes, burnouts, music and spending time with his many friends. Owen had a million-dollar smile that melted your heart and lit up a room. Owen’s star burned bright and fast, and he will be forever missed by all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at Brown’s Head Cemetery, 43 Browns Head Light Road, Vinalhaven, Maine on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 o’clock in the morning.
