Obituary for Neil Kenton Ward

THOMASTON – Neil Kenton Ward, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Sussman House in Rockport surrounded by his family, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born October 13, 1948 in Bangor to Kenton and Christine (Twitchell) Ward, he grew up in Detroit, was educated in local schools, and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in secondary education.

Neil taught Industrial Arts for 10 years, and later started his own company, Nu-Tek, where he built homes for 20 years before retiring.

He enjoyed fishing, working on boats and cars, and doing projects around his home. He would help anyone without hesitation, and will be remembered for being a hardworking, talented, and kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Predeceased by his parents, Neil is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Polly Ward of Thomaston; his sons, Michael Ward and his partner Christina Parsons of Waldoboro; Brian Ward and his partner Roxanne Dragon and their son Magnus of Limington; his daughter, Brianna Perkins and her husband Bud, and their son Robert of Thomaston; as well as several extended family members and friends.

Per Neil’s request, no services will be held. Neil often spoke of his ashes being spread over the ocean, and his family will honor his wishes this summer.
