Obituary for Mark Edward Blauvelt

WASHINGTON – Mark E. Blauvelt, 61, died peacefully, yet unexpectedly, at home, Saturday, February 5, 2022.
Born in Plainville, Ohio, he was the son of Richard and Patricia Haffer Blauvelt.

Born with wanderlust in his heart, Mark spent his life traveling, never settling in one spot for very long. Over the years he has lived in many places including, Texas, Minnesota and Ohio. In 2002 Mark settled with his boys, Andrew and Daniel, in Washington, Maine. Together they owned and operated M.A.D. Construction, working side by side on a daily basis.

He was a hard worker his entire life, and known as a jack-of-all-trades. He had a vast array of knowledge on many different subjects, and was always willing and eager to share this with anyone who would listen. Mark loved cooking for his family and would often share his recipes with his daughter-in-law.

When he wasn’t busy working, Mark continued to stay busy with building projects. He particularly enjoyed building cabinets.

Mark was a home-body who loved his family more than anything. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, hanging out with friends, and being with his beloved four-legged friends, Max and Lily. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Predeceased by his brother Richard ‘Rick’ Blauvelt; Mark is survived by his children, Amber Cornelison and her husband Joe of Jacksonville, FL, Liz Blauvelt of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrew Blauvelt and his wife Kelsey, and Daniel Blauvelt all of Washington; the mother of his children Lois Blauvelt of Colorado Springs, CO; his sisters, Sherry Lann and Chrissy Blauvelt; as well as his seven grandchildren, Abby, Johanna, Skylar, Autumn, Dylan, Lucas and Emma.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
