WARREN – With sadness and love we would like to announce that Linda Brewer Hooper, 77, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Hawthorne House in Freeport.
Born on June 2, 1946 in Rockland, she was the daughter of Freeman C. and Dorothy R. Brewer. She was raised in the Rockland area and was educated in local schools graduating from Rockland High School in 1964.
In 1970, Linda met the love of her life, Ruel Hooper, and soon after they were married. They moved to Warren to start their life and their family, where they spent the last 53 years of their lives. They were together until the very end. Though Linda loved her husband Ruel, that could not equate to the amount of love she felt for their children.
Linda was proud to be a homemaker. Caring for her children and her home was her passion. She was so proud of who each of her children grew up to be. She will be missed by many friends and family; her unwavering thoughtfulness and kindness was the bright light Linda brought to all of those who encountered her over the years.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Freeman and Dorothy Brewer. She is survived by her husband Ruel C. Hooper, Jr.; her sons, Ruel “Tony” Hooper and his wife Tanya of Alaska, Phillip “Chipper” Knowlton and his wife Lynn of Warren, Jason Hooper and his wife Molly of Spruce Head; her daughter, Leanne Hooper of Warren; grandchildren, Rachel, Lainie, Maddie, Kenzie and Jaxon; her great grandchildren, Brody, MacKenzie and Aiden; her sister Donna Rockliff & Ralph of Rockland; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
There will be no services held at this time.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
