Obituary for Linda Diane Collings (Wadsworth)

WARREN – Linda Diane Collings, 68, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 5, 2020 due to complications of an extended illness.

Born December 16, 1951 in Worcester MA to Arnold and Carol (Field) Wadsworth, she was educated in a variety of schools as her father moved frequently due to his work.

Starting at a young age, Linda was raised by her grandmother Emeline Polk along with her cousin Almon Quinn who she developed a very close bond with and who was more like a brother to her.

It was in Indiana that she met her soulmate, Darl K. Collings, and the two of them married in October of 1997.

Eventually the two of them would settle down in Warren where Linda was a homebody and was also known as the “Cookie Lady” to many. She loved to cook and according to her son, “she would always make enough to feed an army”.

Along with her love for cooking, Linda loved to go shopping, play bingo, read, and knit. She especially loved to listen to country music and oldies rock and Roll from the 50’s and 60’s, and had a very special place in her heart for her Pomapoodle (Pomeranian Poodle mix) “Gidget” who was always at her side or under her feet.

She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved very much and spent a lot of time with her grandson Christian Couch.

Predeceased be her parents, Linda is survived by her husband Darl of Warren; her son Charles McAuliffe of Warren; her daughter Linda McAuliffe of Chelsea; her stepson Brad Collings; her stepdaughter Tammy Patten; her brother Robert “Bob” Wadsworth of Rockland; her stepbrother Wayne Grierson; and her sister Debbie.

At this time the family has decided to remember Linda privately and no public services will be held.
