In his early 30s, Larry moved into his lifelong career working on Leadbetter Island. He was hired by the White family in 1976 and retired in the fall of 2018. He was very dedicated to the many families that he worked with, and was often seen day or night traveling to and from the Posey L.
Larry held a variety of community volunteer positions on the island. He was a Grange member, served as a town selectman, served on the Planning Board and was a Board of Trustees member. He was also a trustee for the Seaview Cemetery. Larry enjoyed his family and friends. His hobbies included a love of golfing, reading a great mystery novel, playing poker, and he diligently pursued his fondness for antiquing, which he began with his wife and continued until his passing.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Stacy Lee Beverage, and her wife, Kourtney Sherwood, of Bath, Crystal Beverage Grant and her husband, Justin Grant, of North Haven; his two brothers, Raymond Beverage and his wife, Maria, of New Jersey, Wayne Beverage and his wife, Susan, of Florida; a sister, Bonnie Waterman, and her husband, Paul, of North Haven; his sister in-law, Pamela Beverage of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Dillon Ames, Justice Grant, Kaylee Grant and Kyle Grant; three step- grandchildren, Maddox, Kobe and Klara Belle; his two great-grandchildren, Kaysen Brown and Kenzie Ames; many nieces and nephews; cousin Linda Soper and husband Bob of Lynn, Mass.; maternal uncle Edwin Thayer and wife Ruth of North Haven; and many cousins and friends.
