Obituary for Kathy Collins
UNION – Kathy M. Collins, 63, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her home in Union.
Born in New York, January 5, 1959, she was the daughter of Carl and Alberta VanBrocklyn Nickles.
A caregiver and homemaker at heart, Kathy spent many years caring for her two boys, Charles and Michael. She never hesitated to help out or take in her nieces and nephews when they needed help.
She loved to go to ‘Beano’, work in her gardens, cook and sew. Together with her companion Herb she enjoyed tending the cow and always had her dog ‘Oreo’ at her side.
Kathy will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her companion of many years, Herbert Fournier of Union; her beloved sons, Charles Collins and Michael Collins both of Union; her siblings, Carl, Richard and Percy Nickles, Minola Carter, Laurie Simmons, Ramona Carter, Jodi Nickles and Jeannie Collins; a special friend Linda Delso of Union; as well as one grandson, Caleb Collins.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A gathering will be held at Ayer Park in Union immediately following the service.
