Obituary for Jessica Audrey May Thombs

UNION - Jessica Audrey May Thombs, 30, took her last sprinting breath across the finish line into heaven, November 28, 2020. She entered through the gate called Beautiful and met Jesus face-to-face. We believe Jesus said to her “Jess, you have fought a good fight now you can enter into rest”

Born in Mount Holly, NJ, February 27th, 1990, Jessica is the daughter of Ray and Tracey Thombs.

Jessica enjoys fishing, swimming, Amish books, miniature golf, Mario Bros games and Operation Christmas Child. Jess’s dog Mandy was her protection and ‘daughter’. Jess loves getting her Birthday and Christmas gifts. Mandy’s puppies continue to bring joy to many households.

Jessica has a gift for knowing the heart of people even if they never said a word to her. She would often express “I like her”, or she would briefly utter some heartfelt concern about how that person is hurting. She is always interested in others ‘real self’ and wanted to hug them if they were sad. Jess loves to care for those who cared for her or for those who others would not embrace. Every year she would strategically plan out and then give personalized Christmas decorations to many of these people. She is simplistic in her understanding yet has a wealth and depth of wisdom that is heaven sent.

Her timing of delivery, especially over her last few months, was quite funny at times but very powerful. She delivered messages straight from the throne of grace right into the heart of her targeted recipient.

Jessica’s mother Tracey, Father Ray, brother Nehemiah and sister Elizabeth with her husband Raymond and their daughter Paige, will carry on Jessica’s legacy. In addition, her Grandparents Barry & Shirley Cheney and Grandmother Lorena Thombs and Grandfather Ray Thombs Sr. (dec.) as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins will miss her. She was also preceded in death by her brother Weston and her cousin Alex. She now joins them and others from her mansion in heaven. We are sure she is celebrating her new cancer-free body and probably inviting people over for cheese and crackers to listen to a Novel or series of books read to them.

Jessica’s family desires to greet friends and family in a time of walk-thru visitation, to be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, December 4, 2020, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. Those attending are asked to consider respectful distancing and keep their visit brief, providing opportunity for everyone to have access to the building. A celebration of her life will be held privately Saturday. All are invited to join virtually by logging on to Jessica’s Book of Memories at www.bchfh.com, then clicking the ‘Photos & Videos’ Tab, where a Watch Webcast link will be available.. A public remembrance and ceremony will be announced in the Spring of 2021. In Lieu of flowers or gifts, the family is requesting that donations be made to help alleviate all remaining costs. What is in excess will be donated to the NF Foundation to help fund medical research to help cure NF.

Donations can be made to Ray & Tracey Thombs and mailed to Resurrection Church, PO Box 888, Union, ME 04862. Memories and condolences may be shared on Jessica’s Book of Memories at www.bchfh.com.
