Obituary for Jennie Johnson
ST. GEORGE - Jennie Lee Johnson 93, went lovingly into the arms of Jesus on her birthday, April 30,2021. Born in Rockland, April 30, 1928, she was one of five children of William H. and Amy Rivers Elliott.
She graduated from Rockland High in 1946.
Married in 1948, she had 58 years marriage to Albert John (Nubby) Johnson, until his death in 2006.
She devoted herself as a homemaker for her family. With her husband, she enjoyed many years wintering in Florida. She was devoted to her grandchildren & great grandchildren. A sweet soul, she was always busy well into her 80s and rarely had a bad day.
Other than her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her husband; grandson William (BJ) Johnson; granddaughter Kristen Davis Miner and her son-in-law Pat Davis.
She is survived by her children Jane Davis of Gorham, Judy Johnson, William J. Johnson and his wife Debbie, Russell Lee Johnson all of St. George; grandchildren Sherri Lee Spake, Shasta Minery, Andrew Davis, Robert Grafton, Jacob Johnson & Jennie King, two step-grandchildren Nicholas and Jeffrey Delaney, ten great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 10, 2021, at North Parish Cemetery, Wileys Corner, St. George. Pastor Bill Hickey will officiate. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.
