Obituary for Henry Erickson Jr.

WARREN - Henry A. Erickson, Jr. 73, passed away the morning of September 14, 2020 at Togus VA hospital in Augusta.

Born August 18, 1947 in Rockland, he grew up in Warren, spending a lot of time on Isle au Haut during his childhood.

He attended Frank D. Rowe Elementary School and graduated from Georges Valley High School. After some time at Gorham State College, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam.

Once he had seen the world and proudly done his duty for his country, he eventually returned to the Midcoast Maine area, working as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years.

He loved fabricating, welding, and working on anything with an engine. He enjoyed cooking and having dinner gatherings at his home, and was proud of his baking skills, having mastered cakes from scratch.

Henry will be remembered by many for his unique sense of humor and fun loving nature, as well as being one of the kindest men you could know. He loved his people, always happy to have family and friends around him.
A favorite quote of his from his time in the military definitely captures his attitude toward life: "We have done so much with so little for so long, that now we can do anything with nothing, forever."

Henry was predeceased by his father Henry Sr. and his mother Rena. He is survived by his children, Charles, Richard, Julie, George, and Jocelyn; four grandsons, and a large extended family.

Henry was laid to rest privately beside his parents at Newcomb Cemetery, Warren.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
