Obituary for Heath Allen Yeaton

CUSHING – Heath Allen Yeaton, 44, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 3, 2022, at his home in Cushing.

Born in Rockport, January 4, 1978, he was blessed to have two sets of parents; Brad and Roberta Yeaton and Jacqueline and Randy Philbrook. He was one of four boys. Heath attended Cushing schools while ultimately obtaining his General Education Diploma, which he was really proud of.

Heath’s love in life was the ocean and his family. He began his lifelong career of lobstering at the age of four, helping his dad on the boat. He was particularly good at and fond of splicing rope. Over the years Heath not only got the chance to work with his dad and brother, Brandon, on the boat, but several different captains in the Midcoast area. Most recently, Heath was promoted to supervisor at Friendship Trap Company.

Heath loved his family and friends. He seemed to have a very special bond with each and every person he knew. He was known for walking into a room and having the ability to make everyone laugh. Most of all, Heath enjoyed and cherished time with his son. They enjoyed apple picking, four-wheeling, and camping together. Most recently you could find Heath relaxing and fishing off his boat on one of the local lakes. Heath was a survivalist; he loved collecting knives, swords and axes. Along with the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting with his dad. He received his moose permit many years ago and got the opportunity to take a hunting trip with his father up in the Allagash, where he got his first moose.

Predeceased by his grandparents, Stan and Doris Yeaton, Eugene and Gertrude Harrington; a very special great-uncle Ronald Russell and uncle Tom Yeaton; his aunts, Carmen Moshier, Carol Simmons; and his great-aunt Zilda Kaler; Heath is survived by his son Noah Yeaton; his parents Brad and Roberta Yeaton of Cushing, Jacqueline and Randy Philbrook of Vinalhaven; his brothers, Jeremy and his companion Jasmine of Friendship, Travis and his wife Stacey of Waldoboro and Brandon Yeaton of Cushing; his nieces and nephews, Myah Hansen, Harper and Kellen Yeaton, Peyton and Riley Eaton; aunts and uncles, Eugene and Kim Harrington, Holly and Brad Overlock, Lynn and Alan Libby, Lisa and John Gray, Stewart and Ellen Harrington, Renita and Chris Merritt, and Lynn Yeaton; as well as lots of special cousins and extended family members who he loved dearly. He will be dearly missed by his special friends whom he considered brothers, Tom Henderson, Wilson ‘French Fry’ Collamore, John ‘JP’ Kordak and many other special friends who were close to his heart.

In Lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation may do so to the Take Your Kids Fishing Heath Yeaton Fishing Pole Memorial Fund. This can be done at any Camden National Bank or mailed to P.O. Box 166, Vinalhaven, Maine 04863. This fund was established to donate fishing pole kits to children. Heaths biggest love was fishing with his son Noah.
