Obituary for Elizabeth Claire Pinto

ROCKPORT - After a long, courageous journey with cancer, Elizabeth Claire Pinto stepped into the light of God’s loving presence on September 27, 2022. She was surrounded by her loved ones who promise to continue to honor her legacy by dedicating their lives to her charitable efforts.

In her cancer journey, Elizabeth was an inspiration. She never asked, “Why me?” She always said, “Why not me?” She found purpose in being of service to other people. She put aside her fears in order to guide and help others. She was an instrument of her faith. She always strived to do God’s will. Her favorite quote was this: “We only live once, Snoopy.” And Snoopy replied “Wrong. We only die once. We live every day!"

Her vivacious personality, captivating smile and infectious humor were contagious to everyone she met. She had an uncanny ability to make everybody feel at ease. She was unforgettable.

Elizabeth had an expansive career as a real estate executive in Vero Beach, Florida. She played an indispensable role in the development of the communities of Sea Oaks, Baytree, and Grand Harbor. In addition, she consulted in the executive director role at Eagle Creek Resort in central Illinois. At the close of her career, Elizabeth and her loving husband relocated from Florida to the mid-coast of Maine.

During her time in Maine, Elizabeth explored every country back road and found beauty in its lush landscape. She had the ability to find happiness in the simplest of things. She loved spending summers with her family at their camp, swimming in the pond, kayaking, and listening to the loons.

Elizabeth’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Strazzulla, and their children, Jack and Christopher; son, Gregory Pinto; sister, MaryJane Martin; brother Mark Foster (whom she raised as her own son); and four additional brothers and sister-in-laws: Daniel and MaryBeth Foster; Douglas and Janice Foster; Peter and Kelly Foster; Paul and Aliki Foster, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that flowers and cards be sent to Burpee, Carpenter and Hutchins Funeral Home at 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, Maine, by noon on Friday, October 8. Though, flowers will be graciously accepted those who would like to make a donation in Elizabeth’s honor, please consider donating to her favorite charity. St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Burpee, Carpenter and Hutchins Funeral Home at 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, Maine. After the burial, everyone is welcome to join the family in a time of fellowship and reception at Adas Kitchen on Main Street in Rockland.
