Obituary for Connor Gene Lazaro

VINALHAVEN - Connor Gene Lazaro was born July 14, 2004, to Kimberley Walker and Craig Lazaro. He brought to life the saying “it takes a village” and made himself a permanent part of many lives and families in his community, becoming a son, brother, and uncle to all he loved.

Connor was best known for his–not always appropriate–sense of humor, mischievous smile, and twinkle in his eye that let you know he was about to say or do something to either make you laugh or roll your eyes, and a big, big heart. His time here was short but was lived to the fullest. It was impossible not to smile and laugh when he was around.

Connor is predeceased by his great-grandparents, Sonny and Harriet Warren, Mary and Herbert Warren, Gene Lazaro Sr. and Beatrice Young; and a great-aunt Mary Ruth.

Connor is survived by his parents, Craig Lazaro and Kimberley Walker; a devoted uncle Harlan “Stubby” Warren; stepmother Sarah Lazaro; brothers, Chad, Blake, Brayden, Sonny; a sister Libby; great-grandparents, Ronald and wife Lorraine Walker, Roseanne Bickford; grandparents, Manny Walker and wife Casey, Donna Warren, Gene and Laura Lazaro; uncles, Wesley Chilles and wife Amanda, Kurt Lazaro and wife Hannah; aunts, Holly Walker, Katie Young and husband Matt; nephews, Tavis and Curtis Weller; cousins, Sadie Jeffers, Cyrus, Summer, Meadow and Raven Chilles and Davidson and Haven Young, who he insisted call him “Uncle Connor”; several other cousins too numerous to list, with whom he shared a special bond; numerous great-aunts and uncles; two very special cousins he considered brothers, Cody Hamilton and wife Hannah and their new baby, his niece Marina, and Tanner Lazaro; several close friends he considered brothers and sisters as well, Alec Radley, Hunter Ames, Blake Anthony, Cheyenne Bickford and so many more; as well as a special friend Meagan Davis.

A celebration of Connor’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Sonny’s Wharf, 26 City Point Road, Vinalhaven.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
