Obituary for Christine Estelle Widdecomb
Union – Christine Estelle Widdecomb, 60, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Christine stayed strong while bravely fighting her chronic illness for many years.
Christine, known to her friends and family as “Chrissy” was born on February 6, 1962; she was the daughter of Russell and Donna Thomas. She grew up in Appleton and was a graduate of Camden Rockport High School, class of 1980.
Chrissy met Stephen Widdecomb Sr. in 1981 and were married in January of 1985. Together, they raised four children in Rockland. Chrissy had various jobs after high school, ultimately becoming a homemaker and caregiver to her children, as well as being a tremendous help with day care for her niece and nephews over the years.
Chrissy enjoyed crafting, reading, socializing on facebook, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Chrissy had a beautiful smile and the kindest heart. She was truly a loving person to all who knew her.
Christine was predeceased by her Mother Donna Thomas.
Christine is survived by her husband, Stephen Widdecomb Sr.; daughters, Deanna and Marissa Widdecomb; her son, Tyler Widdecomb; stepson, Stephen Widdecomb Jr.; seven siblings, William Thomas and his wife Melinda, Russell Thomas, Jr. and his partner Cindy, Craig Thomas, Karen Reed and her husband Scott, Polly Thomas and her partner Scott, Mary Tripp and her husband Chet, Lacy Hall and her husband Ryan; she had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Chrissy will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her. At her wishes, there will be no memorial service.
