Obituary for Bruce Woodbury Fales

ROCKPORT, MAINE - Bruce Woodbury Fales, “Boomer”, 67, passed away on January 28,2020, in the place he loved best, his hilltop home amongst the blueberry fields, in Rockport, Maine.

Born February 21, 1952, Bruce was an avid outdoorsman that loved the Maine life. In the winter, he could be found ice fishing with his friends and Black Labrador Retriever on Chickawaukie Lake or snowmobiling amongst the tall pines of the Maine Coast.

In summer, he would tend his many gardens as well as the various animals that passed through the Fales farm over the years. Bruce owned and ran Rockville Landscaping and was known for his skill in creating high quality stonewalls.

He was involved in athletics throughout his life and proudly held the single game high scoring record of 44 points at Camden-Rockport High School. He spent many years playing on recreational softball leagues and was the host of many Wifflemania tournaments.

Bruce was predeceased by his mother, Edith Riley Fales and his father, Woodbury Porter Fales. He is survived by his sister, Linda Fales Garrett and her husband, James of Marlborough, CT, his niece Rebecca Granatini and her husband Christopher, his nephew, Jonathan Garrett, as well as his great nephew and nieces, Matthew, Katherine, Shayla and Lily, all of Marlborough, CT. Bruce also leaves behind several cousins and friends including Jeff Walker, Martha Morrison, Alan Clukey among many others.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held in the summer months at the family’s convenience.
