Obituary for Beverly Worthington

ROCKLAND – Beverly C. Worthington, 92, died peacefully, Monday, May 27, 2019, at the Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in Warren, July 30, 1926, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Eva Starrett Cogan. She attended Warren and Rockland Schools. She graduated from Rockland High School with the class of 1944.
Beverly married Kenneth L. Mignault on October 26, 1945. He passed away December 9, 1977 at the age of 51.

On January 1, 1982, she married Kenneth Wiggin of Mattapoisett, MA. They lived in Florida Rockland until his passing in May of 1998.

She and Everett Worthington were married on January 17, 2001, and resided in Rockland until he died, December 8, 2003.

She was also pre-deceased by her parents; two brothers, Norman K. Cogan, Eugene F. Cogan; a sister, Louie Cogan Morton; a special aunt, Louie Cogan Rogers and a niece Patsy Small. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Mignault Turner and her husband Jayson of Pine Mountain Club, CA and their 3 daughters; a son, Robert L. Mignault of Ohio and his daughter; a niece, Kathy Wood of Union; two step-daughters, Christine ‘Ginger’ Wiggen Jensen and her husband Ronald of Largo, FL, Kendra Wiggin Schuster of Warren and her family; a step-son David Worthington and his wife Beverly of Naples, FL.

Beverly worked several years at the Samoset Resort Gift Shop, and in earlier years often assisted her first husband Kenneth Mignault in his business, Mid Coast Appliance Center.

She was an active member of the Class of “44”, a past member of the Golden Rod Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies J.C.’s, Ladies Extension and the Lady Shrine Club. She volunteered many years with the Rockland Historical Society and at the former Knox General Hospital and later at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.

Beverly was a long-time member of the Rockland Congregational Church and for the past several years, attended Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church in Rockland.

Friends and relatives are welcome to attend a graveside at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Fairview Cemetery, Patterson Mill Road, Warren. Pastor Mark Adolphsen will officiate.
