Making furniture, gardening, and spending time with family were just a few of his favorite pastimes.

He was a Korean War Combat Veteran who proudly served his country in the 187th Airborne Division earning the Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal for his service. He was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion and Rockland Elks Club where he enjoyed many evenings engaged in storytelling.

In 1956, Bernard married the love of his life. He spent the rest of his years providing and caring for his family as a steadfast and strong husband and father. He was well known in the community and always quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed his help.

Other than his parents, Bernard was predeceased by two daughters, Hazel Philbrook and Janet Fogg; son-in-law, Tim Fogg. He is survived by his wife Gloria; one son, David Snowdeal and his partner Cindy; brother Lewis and his wife Lillian; sisters, Virginia, Crystal and her husband Claude, Barbara and her husband Robert; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends whom he cared about dearly.
