Obituary for Arlene Dorothy McLain (Fickett)

ROCKLAND – Arlene D. McLain, 93, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the Cushing Homestead.

Born in Rockland, March 29, 1926, a daughter of Leon and Marion Huntley Fickett. Educated in local schools, Arlene was Salutatorian of her Rockland High School graduating class.

She was a longtime active member of Pratt Memorial Methodist Church and in later years, Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Other than her parents and husband, Arlene was pre-deceased by two brothers-in-law, Bertram G. Snow and Edward W. Shaw. She is survived by three sisters, Helen Snow of Rockland, Beverly Shaw of Dover, NH, Janice Cornell and her husband Robert of Gray, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Linda Campbell – Marshall will officiate.
