Obituary for Francis J. "Frank" Johnson

TENANTS HARBOR - Francis (Frank) J. Johnson died from natural causes on Sunday, August 12, 2012.

Frank was a widely published writer of prose and poetry. He was born in Chicago in 1949 and moved to Tenants Harbor, in 1978. He was a member of the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Organization for Women, the National Coalition against Censorship and the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.

Described by his friends as a "gentle soul with deep feelings and sensitivity", he is survived by 3 sisters and a brother: Dianne Fellinger, (McHenry, Illinois); Michelle Johnson, (Anchorage, Alaska); Valerie Landon, (Newark, Delaware) and Dennis Johnson, (Chicago, Illinois). Loved by his family, friends and 6 nephews, Frank made many positive contributions to all with whom he came in contact. He surely will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
