Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Ruth. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

Ann and the rest of the Parker family.
I read about your mother's passing and wanted to send my condolences to you all. I remember your mother fondly while I was still at Waynflete. I loved coming out to your house in South Freeport and your mother encouraging us to go play tennis on the court. The first time I met your mom, my mother had told me that she too had gone to Dobbs and was also in the Colonial Dames, so I felt there was a comfort level with her from the start. She lived a wonderful full life and I am sure loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
My thoughts are with you all.

Hi Hank and Tony, I'm sorry I didn't know your mother but she was obviously a most remarkable woman. And I have such fond and funny memories of our times together during our high school and college years. The sailing adventures, the Junior Yacht Clubs, etc. Hank, I remember a time you took Bill Payne and me out on a boat on a pond - I may have been pregnant – where we saw a green heron: a once in a lifetime sighting for me.

My husband and I retired five years ago and moved back (for me) home to Portland, where we have settled happily. My best wishes and condolences to you and all your family. Fondly, Anne

Woofie was an example to us all; always enthusiastic with anything she took on. We sailed with her sons, still do, and helped her with acquiring boats for the Apprentice Shop. We were fortunate to have known her over the years and, more importantly, to have kept up with her recently. She will be missed, but her spirit and love for life will continue on.
