Obituary for Ronald L. Duswald, Sr.

ROCKLAND – Ronald L. Duswald, Sr., 70, passed away peacefully March 6, 2018, at the Sussman House in Rockport following a brief illness.

Born in Rockland, November 28, 1947, he was the son of Hollis Hamilton and Nellie Priscilla Allen Duswald. Growing up in Clark’s Island, he later returned to the Rockland and Waldoboro area. He was a self-educated man, and his proudest accomplishment was holding a valid Commercial Drivers License with all the endorsements. Ronald was a truck driver, and traveled all over the United States, eventually owning his own trucking outfit. He also worked at the local fisheries as a foreman.

Ronald enjoyed WCW wrestling and country music, especially Johnny Cash. He was a kind man with a good heart that would do anything for anyone.

Ronald is predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Allen Kruger, Mark Kruger, and Robert Kruger, Sr. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Marie Duswald of Rockland; his five sons, Ronald Duswald Jr. of Rockland, Adam Duswald of Atlanta, GA, Hollis Hamilton Duswald of Rockland, Luke Broderick of Hawaii, and Anthony Vicelich of Rockland; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
