As one "from away," I first met Bruce Gamage Sr. in the mid 1980s when my wife and I purchased a second home in Camden that contained four apartments. We furnished and kept one for ourselves and rented the remaining three. In search of replacement appliances, I discovered the Gamage business in Rockland, an experience that allowed me to meet the owners---Bruce and his wife. Although I was 650 miles away in Virginia at least half of each year, all I had to do was place a call to Bruce any time I needed anything in those apartments. He took care of everything from A to Z. He put the word service in the term "customer service." Years later we would laugh about those times when I would see him at the auctions managed by Bruce Jr. The midcoast community has lost a treasure. My sincerest prayers and thoughts are with the entire Gamage clan.
