Condolence: I have many fond memory's of Bill at the Sheriff's Department putting up with those of us who worked after Midnight with him. He put up with alot from us in Patrol, but always had a smile on his face. Bill I know you are watching over all of us now, and I thank-you.

Condolence From: Rockland; Rockland, ME
Condolence: Bill was an outstanding member of the community and a mentor to me. I really cannot say enough kind things about him. I was incredibly saddened to hear about his loss but take comfort in knowing he died in the community he loved so much. My thoughts are with his family, whom he always spoke so fondly of.

Condolence From: Kip Bickford; Loughman, Florida
Condolence: My dear friend you had a smile for everyone with a kind word as well. I remember the first time we met, you were dispatching and I was working my first over night in Rockport. Bill for me it was like looking to my second dad for approval in all that I did on the road. I soon took a job with the Sheriff's department and we worked many calls together, thank you for always being there no matter what the need was. I know where you are now Bill is a better place just because your there. God Bless
Kip

Condolence From: Richard Abshire; USA
Condolence: In July 1963 I first met Bill when he was on duty with the St. George Volunteer Ambulance. I was in very serious condition from an Auto Accident and on the ride to Knox Hospital that night Bill worked a miracle on me and saved my life. Later in Life I worked with Bill at the Knox County Sheriff\'s Dept and he was the best dispatcher we ever had, always cool and calm on the radio keeping us deputies cool and calm on the most dangerous calls and bad accidents. We folks of Knox County had a True Hero in our mist and many folks never realized what a Great Man Bill was. Bill was a great role model and He was my Hero. I will miss him a lot and my thoughts go to his family. The community has truly lost a Valuable Friend and Neighbor.
