Condolence From: Miriam Levitt • Portland, Oregon
Condolence: Elizabeth was my best friend during the 2 years I survived Amherst College. She taught me to say "rabbit rabbit" first thing in the morning on the first day of a new month. She taught me to approach life with openhearted interest in others and without guile. We ate a lot of cookies while studying late at night. I hope the memory of her strength & humor & love of life continues to comfort and support you.

Condolence From: Steve Carriere • Charleston, SC
Condolence: I am stunned at the news of Elizabeth's passing. I first met Elizabeth in 1992 when I needed help in dealing with my divorce and child custody issues. Little did I know just how much of an impact she would have in assisting me, not only in dealing with my divorce, but standing behind me wholeheartedly while I fought with the courts and other venues to stay involved in my daughter's life. Years later it was a letter of recommendation from Elizabeth which helped propel me back into my daughter's life and finally allow me to be the primary parent overseeing her care, ultimately bringing my daughter home to me after many heartbreaking years of legal battles. I am truly sorry and offer my deepest condolences to her family. She was a very wonderful person and from reading other comments and notes of expression, it is apparent she was truly dedicated and passionate in helping others. I am truly grateful for all the help and assistance she provided me.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to the family of Elizabeth.Although I do not know you, I am compelled to send my regards. Elizabeth was my Lawyer many years ago at which time I was scared, vulnerable, and had little self esteem. Not to mention no money to pay for her services. She took me on as a client without asking for a retainer and paid all the court fees and never blinked an eye just said,"I know you will pay me when you can".Which I did when all was settled. She was amazing for me, she never made me feel less than, only gave me courage and respect. It will be a great loss to everyone for her passing.I just wanted the family to know Elizabeth made a difference in my life as she has done for so many others.I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Martha Clayter

Condolence: Elizabeth was a law school classmate of mine. Her gentle demeanor, strong will and keen wit helped me through many a long day at school. We were guilty of passing many notes back and forth during long, dull lectures. We crossed paths a few times after law school, and spoke on the phone more often than that. My deepest sympathy to her beloved family. She will be missed.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Joe, Rebecca and XiXi. Elizabeth was such a very special person - a person who trod lightly on the earth and made a huge impact everywhere she went. She was tough and determined, and at the same time gentle and full of compassion. The world was a better place for her presence. I will miss her presence in my life.

Condolence: Dear Joe, Rebecca and Xiara, I just heard about Elizabeth and I am so sad but I am glad to hear she was surrounded with your love. I\'m sure it was hard for her to let you go she loved you all so much. Elizabeth was one of those rare people who knew how to listen. She never pretended to be anything but who she was strong, sensitive, vulnerable, thoughtful, protective....these are the words that come to mind when I think of her. I honor ever minute that we spent together. It was always fun and often honestly enlightening. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you travel the road ahead. We are on our own journey to say the final goodbye to Chris\'s grandmother who passed away at 95 so we can\'t attend Elizabeth\'s service but know that we are there in spirit With Warm Regard, Leslie, Chris, John and Kristina Ferguson

Condolence From: Dedde Radley • Rockland
Condolence: First I would like to say sorry for your loss. I met Elizabeth around 2003-2004. I was given her name by a friend at work. She was an amazing woman to talk to and help me with the guardianship of my grandson. I then used her again with the next grandson as well. I was so hoping that she was going to help me with the adoption, but it was to hear that her health was not good and she was not practicing anymore. She was a sweet lady and so nice to talk to and understood my love for my grandchildren. She told me that family comes first and that is so true. Remember all the good times and cherish those moments. May the Lord watch over all of you Dedde
