October 18, 1968, he married Diana "Rene" Maurine Eagan in Camden. The couple made their home in Rockland until 1968, when with friends and family, they built their own home off Buttermilk Lane.
For many years, he was employed as a lineman with the phone company, retiring in the late 1990s.
After that, Mr. Richardson lobstered out of the Wessaweskeag River aboard his lobster boat, 'Rene', just as his father had done before him.
For more than 30 years, he was an active member and Past Exalted Ruler of Rockland Lodge of Elks No. 1008. He was also a member of the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Post No. 1, Sons of the American Legion, Rockland and the Finn-Am Society.
He enjoyed playing pool and was known as a 'pool shark' by family and friends. He particularly loved his hound dogs Jack & Harry.
Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diana "Rene"; two sons, Steven E. Richardson, Jr. and his wife Rachel, Shane Richardson and his wife Jane all of South Thomaston; one brother Robert Richardson of Rockland and sister-in-law, Catherine Callahan and her husband Wesley of South China; as well as two grandchildren, Steven E.
