SOUTH THOMASTON - Edna Evelyn Roberts passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, August 14, 2009 after a long illness.
Born September 18, 1921 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of John and Mary Ferreira Lima. She attended Wilfred Academy in Boston and worked as a hair stylist of many years. Later she moved to Maine with her husband Clarence where they ran a small diner, a lunch wagon and eventually built traps for many local lobstermen.
Her favorite pastimes were working on puzzles, going to bingo and playing cards with her many family and friends.
Edna is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Roberts; her daughters, Susan Moore and her husband, Keith of Cannon, Rhode Island, Linda Young and her husband Robert of South Thomaston; son, Edward L. Roberts and his wife, Theresa of Rockland; four grandchildren, Tabatha Allen of Jefferson, Sherri Dodge of South Thomaston, Chris Dodge of Warren, and Irene Roberts of Skowhegan; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
