Born at Rockport, June 6, 1978, he was the son of James M. and Tammy Paulsen Ross. Jamie was educated in Thomaston schools.
Very active in athletics, Jamie was awarded a presidential certificate as the fastest runner in his school. He also participated on the soccer team, where he had the distinction of scoring the most goals in one season. Jamie enjoyed basketball and could often be found at the Rockland Rec Center playing in one of the men's league games.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with his son Noah. Together they enjoyed playing video games, even when Noah was the winner.
Jamie's family remembered he was a very talented young man. He wrote numerous poems and enjoyed studying art. He had an extensive collection of art books that he had acquired from friends and people who knew he would appreciate them. As well as art books, Jamie enjoyed reading the Bible and found great strength from its quotes.
His mother said he had a forgiving soul. She said that even when they were mad at each other he would have moved on less than an hour later and be up to his old tricks of making them laugh.
