He was an incorporator of Heritage Savings Bank and Penobscot Bay Medical Center; a member and director of Limerock Council, Knights of Columbus, Rockland Chamber of Commerce and treasure of Rockland Peewee Basketball League.
Armand’s passion for the game of Golf, was born out in his 57 year membership and support of the Rockland Golf Club and his memberships at both The Meadows and The Lakes Golf Clubs in Plant City, Florida. He was a class B Champion at the Rockland Golf Club and winner of several other tournaments, along with one memorable ‘Hole in One’. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his twin sons Jay and Jamie, watching them compete in school boy matches and at the Rockland Golf Club. He was always great at giving tips to help anyone improve their game, and he was very proud to learn that his grandson enjoyed the game as much as he did.
Hunting in Bingham and Knox County, with his son Jay and friends Roger and Anna Sorrent, was another enjoyable experience for Armand. Many family trips were had, skiing at Sugarloaf Mountain and The Camden Snow Bowl, with Armand filming every minute.
He looked forward to playing in the Central Maine Seniors Golf Association at many courses with his friends, Chandler Woodman, Tom Jacobs, Bill Bachofner and Bob Sommers.
