Condolence: I was so saddened to hear of Gloria's death. I met Gloria in the early 1980's at the Sail Loft Restaurant in Rockport where we both waitressed. Gloria, or Glo as we called her, was like a mother to many of us. She was kind, steady, and always had wonderful no nonsense advice. She shared her friendship, her kindness, her stories of her daughters and grandchildren, her recipes for pickles and carrot cake and more. Gloria supported me as I went on to finish college degrees, remembering me with words of encouragement in a card or a care package of cookies and candy. Gloria and I shared a dear friend, Elizabeth Biddle who died of breast cancer a few years back. Glo and I got back in touch after years of being out of touch with each other. Gloria was a comfort
to me when we would visit Elizabeth and when Elizabeth died.
I loved talking to Gloria during the summer and hearing of her camping trips to Moosehead, Cobscook Bay, or Mount Blue. I was so happy for her and Frank to be continuing to go and do.
Yesterday afternoon I was on Vinalhaven and I looked up at a gorgeous late afternoon sky deep blue streaked with white out over the ocean. I gazed and smiled as I thought of Gloria and Frank sharing their spirit with us all on a pretty late autumn day.
I can hear Gloria's wonderful accent and her words of wisdom and I am so happy she was my friend. My sincerest condolences to her family. MaryBeth Pride

Condolence: Gloria was a client of mine at the beauty salon for many years, I thought the world of her, she was a very sincere and caring person, she was always so proud when she spoke of her family, it was very clear that she loved all of you dearly, I will miss her sweet smile, my sincere sympathy for your loss.
