Obituary for Nancy Pease (Hay)

GARDINER - Nancy Pease, 78, formerly of Rockland, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, after a long illness.

Born in Fitchburg, MA, August 16, 1933 she spent her childhood surrounded by family in Massachusetts and chose to settle in Rockland, Maine with her husband Jesse and daughter Jane.

She worked for many years with the residents of the Rockland Convalescent Center as a dietary aid. An active and dedicated member of The Gardiner Elks Lodge, The Gardiner Eagles Club, and The American Legion Auxiliary, Nancy devoted her life to helping others. She enjoyed several aspects of the organizations she was involved with including, cooking for her fellow members, participating in the dart league, and involvement in the annual Rock and Roll and Country Shows. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband Jesse Pease. She is survived by her daughter Jane and her husband Christopher Haskell; her grandsons Sean Haskell, Dustin Haskell and his wife Alyssa Littlefield; her niece Pat Hight with whom she was especially close, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland. The Reverend Mark Reinhardt will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Nancy’s name to the Gardiner Elks Lodge, 148 Cobbossee Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
