John B. Laite

A native of Maine, John grew up in a family owned funeral business in Camden.  He attended Camden schools, Husson College of Bangor, and was a graduate of Eastern Maine Technical Institute of Bangor.  While working in the funeral business he served in several organizations including, past president of the Camden Lions Club, a volunteer of the Camden Fire Department and has been a communicant of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church for the past forty years.  At Saint Thomas, he has served on the vestry and building committee.  During his early years at the church John was an acolyte and lay assistant.

After pursuing different careers he felt returning to the funeral business was where he belonged.  John joined the staff of Burpee, Carpenter, & Hutchins Funeral Home in May of 2007 serving families and neighboring communities.  John’s friendly demeanor and outgoing attitude has made him a welcomed addition to the staff. 
 

John enjoys several activities during the year including: fly fishing, biking, and golf.  Together with his wife Stephanie, John has made his home in Union for the past sixteen years.
